(Anne Hillerman is the author of the Leaphorn-Chee-Manuelito mysteries, continuing the suspenseful storytelling of her late father, Tony Hillerman. She is also the executive producer, with the late Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin, of the popular streaming series “Dark Winds.” She and Ron’s friendship dates back to the early 1980s, when they both worked at the daily Santa Fe New Mexican.)
