Boy meets girl. Boy marries girl. Boy and girl murder five people … and live happily ever after.
Alice and Gerald Uden were deadly. Separately and together, the homicidal husband and wife killed at least two husbands, one ex-wife, and two adopted sons over seven years in Wyoming. Starting in 1980, detectives had a feeling about them but could never connect the dots while Gerald and Alice settled into their golden years on a peaceful farm in Missouri. Only a lottery-lucky break changed everything.
The Udens’ sordid tale of manipulation, murder, and mad love was retold in my true-crime book “Alice & Gerald: A Homicidal Love Story.” Now it’s coming to a TV near you.
Oxygen Network’s “Killer Couples” series will air their story at 8pm (EST) on Friday, June 25. Among the commentators are detectives who chased Alice and Gerald, the prosecutor, and the author—me.
